Who does an AI recommend for an interior designer in Navi Mumbai? We asked 24 times.

On 31 August 2026 we asked an AI assistant, with live web search switched on, who to hire as an interior designer in four Navi Mumbai nodes: Kharghar, Vashi, Nerul and Belapur. Six answers per node. Twenty-four answers in total. Below is every business those answers named, and how many of the six named it.
One thing first, because this page is about being checkable. The assistant we sampled is Claude, with live web search — not ChatGPT. We have not sampled ChatGPT for this vertical yet, so we do not claim to know what it says. What we can show you is what one AI assistant said, twenty-four times, on a stated date, with the counts unedited.

Sixteen different businesses for six answers.
Why the same firm appears twice. We record each name exactly as the answer wrote it, and we do not merge spellings by hand. So Kharghar shows DesignCafe at 3 of 6 and Design Cafe at 3 of 6. Those two rows never fall in the same answer, so that firm was in fact named in all six. Vashi does the same thing with DELECON, DELECON Design Co. and Delecon Design Company — six answers between them, no overlap. Merging is a judgement call, and we would rather you see the raw rows and this note than a tidy number you cannot check.
What the counts show
The answer is short and the tail is long. Each answer named a handful of businesses, but across six answers a node produced 13 to 16 different names. Most of them came up once. Being named once is noise. Being named five or six times out of six is visibility.
In Kharghar and Vashi, the top of the list is held by names that repeat across nodes. Home2Decor led Kharghar at 6 of 6 and Vashi at 5 of 6. Design Cafe, counting both spellings, covered all six Kharghar answers, and turned up in all four nodes we tested. Homzinterio took 4 of 6 in Kharghar. If you run a one-studio practice in those two nodes, you are competing with names the assistant is already comfortable repeating.
In Nerul and Belapur, local studios own the answer outright. Mahesh Interior Designer was named in all six Nerul answers. Gauri Salunke Designs & Infra and Interiors by Kanchan Kolge took 5 of 6 each. In Belapur, three names — Amayra Interiors and Decor, Antarachna Interiors and JS Interiors and Contractors — each hit 6 of 6. Except for a single Vashi mention of JS Interiors and Contractors, none of those five names appeared in any other node's answers at all.
That last point is the one worth keeping. A single-node studio can own the AI answer for its node, because in two of the four nodes we tested, one already does. Whatever is different about Nerul and Belapur, it is not company size and it is not ad budget. It is what the public record says — the profile, the reviews, the listings, the website — and that is work anybody can do. How we did it
Engine. Claude with live web search enabled, up to four searches per answer. One engine only. We are adding others; when we do, we will publish those numbers separately rather than blending them.
Questions. Three per node, written the way a customer writes them: "Who are the best interior designers in [node], Navi Mumbai? Name specific businesses I should contact." — "I need a interior designer for my 2BHK in [node]. Which specific local businesses do people recommend?" — "Recommend a good, reasonably priced interior designer in [node], Navi Mumbai, with names and why."
Repeats. Each question asked twice, in separate calls. Three questions × two repeats = six answers per node, 24 across the four nodes.
Dates. All 24 answers were collected on 31 August 2026, in two batches that finished at 12:37 and 12:43 UTC.
The metric is mention rate, not rank. We count how many of the six answers named a business. We do not report a position, and neither should anyone else: ask the same question twice and the list comes back different, so a "rank" is a single dice roll written down as a fact. Here is the longer argument, with the two runs that made us stop using the word.
What we are not claiming. Not that these counts hold today — they are a photograph of 31 August. Not that they hold on other engines. Not that six answers is a large sample; it is enough to separate "named nearly every time" from "named once", and no more. And nothing at all about the quality, price or conduct of any business above. We counted names. That is the whole claim.
